The Fear of The LORD

These Bible verses explain the meanings of the fear of the Lord and why we should fear him.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
~ Proverbs 1 : 7 NIV

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. ~ Psalm 111 : 10 NIV

To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I have pride and arrogance, evil behaviour and perverse speech.
~ Proverbs 8 : 13 NIV

7)Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. 8)This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. ~ Proverbs 3 : 7 – 8 NIV

Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil.
